Proposal regarding Calling Party Number Delivery and Originating Identification

1. Introduction:

Contribution C56 by Egypt addressed the work of ITU-T regarding Calling Party Number Delivery, Calling Line Identification and identification of origin in general. It emphasized the impact of non-delivery of the true origin of the call - starting from the calling party number up to the country code - on fraud, security and users’ rights which harms some MSs and their operating agencies and citizens, typically Developing Countries.

In this contribution, some clarifications shall be provided to support inclusion of some clause(s) in the ITRs regarding identification of origin and other related issues such as transparency of call route.
