WCIT 2012 Preparation Process

Introduction

Council-09, pursuant to Plenipotentiary Resolution 146 (Antalya, 2006), agreed to prepare for a World Conference on International Telecommunications (WCIT), taking into consideration both recent and past substantive work that has reviewed the ITRs, and the results of the WTPF-09 as contained in Opinion 6. Council-09 adopted Resolution 1312 which established a Council Working Group to prepare for the 2012 WCIT (CWG-WCIT12). The Resolution, inter alia, resolves that the CWG-WCIT12 prepare for a WCIT and submit a progress report to Council 2010.
