Scope of consideration of cybersecurity with the review of the ITRs
BACKGROUND
To prepare for the 2012 World Conference on International Telecommunications (WCIT-12) ITU members have been invited to submit contributions on a number of topics related to revision of the International Telecommunication Regulations (ITRs) to the fourth meeting of the Council Working Group (CWG), which is to be held in Geneva from April 4-6. According to the invitation, the topics to be discussed include,
· Any new and emerging issues, and
· Issues identified in WTPF-09 Opinion 6 . . . taking into consideration relevant Resolutions of PP-10.
One of the sixteen new and emerging issues that WTPF-09 Opinion 6 identifies is “Cybersecurity, including security of data, of signaling and traffic information, and of billing information.”
