Preparations for the World Conference on International Telecommunications

Introduction

Taking into account Resolution 146 (Antalya, 2006) and Decision 9 (Antalya, 2006), the results of the Expert Group to Review the ITRs and the Results of the World Policy Telecommunications Forum in particular Opinion 6, Syria proposes that the Council adopt the following Resolution in order to start the important activities for the preparation of the World Conference on International Telecommunications (WCIT).

The Council,

noting

a) Resolution 146 (Antalya, 2006), Review of the International Telecommunication Regulations;

b) Decision 9 (Antalya, 2006), Fourth World Telecommunication Policy Forum;

c) the Report of the Expert Group to Review the ITRs, created by the Director of TSB pursuant to Resolution 146 (Document C09/6) and Opinion 6 of the Forum;
