AHCIET'S common position on "The possible modification of the International Telecommunications Regulations (ITR)"
Note: This is a revised version of the contribution. The original version was sent the same day.
SUMMARY
• The Ibero-American Association of Research Centers and Telecommunication Enterprises (AHCIET) believes that the review of the current ITRs ought to pursue the development of a stable treaty, establishing only high-level, general principles that enable a strategic and policy environment that facilitates the development of information and communication technologies (ICT) in the long term.
• AHCIET considers that only a treaty that is stable over time and establishes high-level principles will ensure a sufficiently flexible and appropriate environment for the innovation and investment necessary for the introduction of new and groundbreaking technologies and services.
